Support FJP
The Food Justice Project (FJP) relies on generous support from the Berkeley Law Pro Bono Project and the Student Association of Berkeley Law (SABL). FJP also operates in partnership with the Bay Area Legal Aid (BALA) and the Basic Needs Center at UC Berkeley. If you are interested in supporting FJP’s work, please contact our leadership team.
The Food Justice Project serves UC Berkeley students who have been denied CalFresh benefits.
With the understanding that hunger on college campuses is a serious and preventable problem, Berkeley Law students assist students in navigating the appeals process by providing direct client services. We partner closely with the Basic Needs Center at UC Berkeley to provide resources to students who need help obtaining benefits. In addition to direct services, the Food Justice Project also undertakes several research projects on the topic of access to benefits for college communities.
