The Food Justice Project (FJP) works to ensure everyone has access to affordable, nourishing, and culturally important food through equitable and sovereign food systems. We advance this mission by supporting UC Berkeley students and the wider Berkeley community as they navigate the CalFresh application and appeals process while also engaging in research, education, and policy advocacy to address structural causes of food insecurity and advance economic, environmental, and racial justice.
